Frequently Asked Questions

Q.How do I get started with SeaPillar?

After signing up, follow the Onboarding Checklist on your dashboard. You will register your first vessel, define storage facilities in the Warehousing module, and schedule an initial port call to begin tracking parcel custody.

Q.What roles are available in the platform?

SeaPillar uses Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with 5 levels: Super Admin (platform-wide), Agency Admin (tenant owner), Operator (full logistics access), Warehouse (receiving and storage management), and Viewer (read-only monitoring).

Q.How does the Warehousing module work?

The module allows you to define physical depots, manage storage zones with specific capacities, and allocate space to clients. It automatically tracks occupancy and generates ERP-ready billing reports based on cargo residency time.

Q.How is digital custody confirmed?

Once cargo is loaded, the captain accesses the secure Vessel Portal via a one-time token. Their digital sign-off creates a tamper-proof timestamped record in the audit trail, finalizing the chain of custody.

Q.Is my data isolated from other agencies?

Yes. SeaPillar uses a multi-tenant architecture with Row-Level Security (RLS). Every database query is strictly scoped to your Organization ID, ensuring zero data leakage between different agencies or terminals.

Q.Can I integrate SeaPillar with my internal ERP?

Enterprise customers can access our API for automated synchronization of manifests, port call milestones, and billing data with existing systems. Contact our team for integration details.

Q.How do I handle damaged cargo or discrepancies?

Operators can attach condition photos directly to parcels during reception. If a captain identifies an issue on board, they can report it through the Vessel Portal, which triggers an instant exception alert on the operations dashboard.
